Biomarker Remote information

What is a biomarker remote?

A Biomarker Remote job typically involves working with biological markers (biomarkers) to support research, drug development, or clinical trials, all while working remotely. Professionals in this role analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings related to biomarkers, which are measurable indicators of biological processes or diseases. Remote biomarker specialists may collaborate with teams virtually, use specialized software, and contribute to scientific publications or regulatory submissions. This position requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of bioinformatics or laboratory methods, and effective remote communication.

How does a remote biomarker specialist typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success?

As a remote Biomarker Specialist, you will regularly interact with multidisciplinary teams including clinical operations, data management, and bioinformatics. Collaboration is often facilitated through virtual meetings, shared digital platforms, and real-time data dashboards, ensuring alignment on study goals and timelines. Clear communication and proactive participation are crucial to overcoming challenges such as time zone differences and maintaining data integrity. This role often provides opportunities to take on leadership tasks in project meetings and contribute to the strategic direction of biomarker discovery and validation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a biomarker remote specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Biomarker Remote Specialist, you need a strong background in molecular biology, biostatistics, and clinical research, often supported by a relevant degree (e.g., biology, biochemistry) and experience in biomarker discovery or validation. Familiarity with data analysis tools, laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and possibly certifications in clinical research are typically required. Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are crucial soft skills. These competencies ensure accurate data analysis, effective collaboration with research teams, and reliable remote work performance, which are vital for advancing biomarker research and supporting clinical trials.

The Market Access Partnership Lead serves as a pivotal member of the U.S. Market Access team, driving the strategy and execution for market access initiatives associated with pharmaceutical and diagnostics partnerships. You will be responsible for shaping, proposing, and delivering U.S. market access plans throughout the lifecycle of these engagements—from initial assessment to contracted execution—ensuring quality, transparency, and strong partner communication at all stages.

This role is based in Indianapolis, IN (onsite preferred).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead U.S. market access activities for pharma/diagnostics (pharma/dia) partnership opportunities, in close collaboration with global functions, product teams, Business Development, and other internal/external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive U.S. market access strategies across the Roche Diagnostics portfolio, with an initial focus on Core Lab and Pathology Lab offerings.
  • Analyze and define access-related requirements: product-specific reimbursement, payer strategies, evidence needs, stakeholder engagement, and market development.
  • Scope, plan, and deliver market access proposals, strategies, presentations, and executive communications for both internal and external partners.
  • Translate signed agreements into actionable market access plans and manage the delivery of key project milestones, deliverables, governance, and partner communication.
  • Lead or co-lead access workstreams, providing cross-functional coordination and ensuring clear accountability for each project.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, scope changes, budgets, and progress, escalating issues as necessary to maintain partnership health.
  • Develop and refine reusable frameworks, tools, and templates to optimize speed, consistency, and quality of future market access partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health economics, public health, business, life sciences, clinical discipline, or a closely related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in market access, reimbursement, payer strategy, health economics, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, consulting, or a related healthcare segment.
  • Proven background in diagnostics and/or pharmaceutical market access; cross-industry experience highly preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • In-depth understanding of the U.S. payer, reimbursement, and evidence landscape for diagnostic technologies; experience with biomarkers or companion diagnostics is a plus.
  • Successful track record in developing and executing market access strategies that deliver measurable business, customer, and patient outcomes.
  • Experience with proposal development, statements of work, project budgeting, timelines, and partner-facing deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to support external partnerships, alliances, or client engagements.
  • Outstanding cross-functional leadership and influence skills, including the ability to drive initiatives across extensive, matrixed U.S. and global teams.
  • Strong project/program management skills, business acumen, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, particularly in interactions with external partners and senior leadership.

Location & Travel

  • This position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana (onsite preferred).
  • U.S.-based remote work options will be considered for highly qualified candidates.
  • The role requires up to 30% travel within the U.S. and internationally, depending on project needs and partner collaboration.
