Description:The High School Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, engaging instruction in Biology, including Advanced Placement (AP) Biology. The teacher will prepare students for college-level scientific study by fostering inquiry-based learning, laboratory skills, critical thinking, and mastery of biological concepts aligned with the College Board AP Biology framework.The ideal candidate demonstrates deep content expertise, strong classroom management, and a passion for preparing students for AP exam success and STEAM pathways.
  • Teach College Preparatory and AP Biology courses.
  • Design and implement lessons aligned with state standards and College Board AP Biology Course and Exam Description (CED).
  • Prepare students for success on the AP Biology exam, including FRQ practice and data analysis.
  • Integrate inquiry-based learning and laboratory investigations.
  • Ensure students develop skills in experimental design, statistical analysis, and scientific reasoning.
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners.
  • Design and supervise safe and engaging laboratory experiences.
  • Maintain lab equipment, materials, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper chemical handling procedures.
  • Teach proper lab documentation and scientific reporting.
