Job description

Data Analyst II

Location: Government facility 95% and Contractor facility 5%. The place of performance may include both government and contractor sites in the following locations: the government site at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), located at 7700 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church, VA 22042, and the contractor site located at 8200 Greensboro Drive, Suite 401, McLean, VA 22102.

An Active Secret Clearance is Required

CORTEK is seeking a Data Analyst to provide strategic workforce operations support services to the Navy Medicine Enterprise (NME) and the Chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED). This role supports BUMED's Office of the Corps Chiefs (N01C) by providing quantitative analysis, forecasting, and performance assessment to inform Medical Forces manning and readiness decisions. The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering measurable progress towards readiness goals by analyzing personnel, recruitment, and retention data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive data analysis services, including database management, data cleaning and preparation, statistical analysis, programming, and visualization to support project activities.
  • Design, develop, implement, and sustain reports, metrics, and dashboards using advanced visualization features to support timely decision-making.
  • Provide visualization tools to support leadership oversight and leverage program readiness and risk data to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Collect and analyze historical recruitment data to determine the return on investment of various outreach efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a Recruitment and Retention Metrics Data Sheet/Dashboard.
  • Support data inquiry, collection, and analysis for retention programs, such as bonuses and specialty pays.
  • Utilize Python, R, and various database management tools (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL) to perform duties.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Health.
  • At least 6-12 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience providing comprehensive data analysis services, to include database management, cleaning and preparation, statistical analysis, programming, dashboard and report creation, and visualization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Enterprise (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Python, R, and other database management tools to include SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
  • The ability to navigate other products and software as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Navy Medicine preferred.

Clearance:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
