Job Summary
The Undergraduate Research Assistantin Biological and Environmental Sciences is responsible for conducting biotic surveys in south Alabama associated with the Blackwater Wetland Gradient study. This work includes but is not limited to: traveling to field
locations, collecting data, completing data sheets, and participating in data entry and analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
1) Must be a full-time Troy University undergraduate student
2) Must be comfortable working outdoors in strenuous conditions.
3) Must possess a valid driver's license
Please note: Student positions are FICA/Medicare exempt only if students are enrolled in classes in the semester work is performed. To qualify for the FICA/Medicare exemption, you must be enrolled on a half-time basis for the Fall, Spring, or Summer.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience conducting fieldwork
2. Macroinvertebrate sampling and identification skills
3. Bird survey and identification skills.
4. Plant identification skills.
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?
Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
