Biological Laboratory Technician
A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.
The Biological Laboratory Technician supports the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) Forensic Sciences Section by performing a variety of laboratory and administrative tasks related to toxicology specimen processing and analysis. The technician assists chemists and toxicologists in daily operations and research efforts, ensuring accurate data handling, compliance with laboratory standards, and timely reporting.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Biological Laboratory Technician:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Biological Laboratory Technician Responsibilities Include:
  • Process incoming toxicology specimens, primarily biological samples such as blood, urine, and tissues.

  • Prepare biological samples for toxicological analyses in accordance with established protocols.

  • Perform data entry for toxicology batches and case records.

  • Generate and format toxicology reports for review and signature.

  • Distribute finalized toxicology reports to designated recipients.

  • Maintain and organize toxicology case files and related documentation.

  • Scan batch and case paperwork for secure electronic storage and retrieval.

  • Assist chemists and toxicologists with daily laboratory operations and research projects.

  • Participate in laboratory accreditation activities to ensure continued compliance with quality standards.

  • Prepare toxicology paperwork and documentation for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Biological Laboratory Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Associate's degree or higher with coursework in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience with an Associate's degree; no prior experience required with a Bachelor's degree.

  • Experience working with biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue) preferred.

  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic recordkeeping a plus.

  • Proficient in laboratory techniques related to sample preparation and handling.

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy in all laboratory and documentation processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
