Job description

Senior Manager – Facilities

BioLife Solutions is a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of class-defining cell and gene therapy bioproduction tools and services. The Senior Manager – Facilities is responsible for overseeing all facilities and equipment at our Washington sites (Bothell and Woodinville). This position ensures compliance with all standards and policies, supports new product/equipment introduction, and leads a team of facility professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own and oversee equipment/equipment qualification and preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with SOPs and standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operational in accordance with the manufacturing schedule.
  • Take proactive action to maintain operations with the most suitable equipment and facilities support systems available.
  • Full on-site oversight of facilities operations and services in leased and owned offices, including critical lab spaces and cleanroom environments.
  • Ensure continual operation of cGMP cleanrooms and execution of all facility‑related tasks in alignment with KPI targets.
  • Manage cGMP pest control, cleaning, access control, and waste stream programs.
  • Maintain relationships with Building Management and track all building maintenance requests to completion.
  • Coordinate office requirements for space planning, furniture, or cubicle assignment.
  • Develop and report functional KPIs and associated performance goals.
  • Lead, manage, and coach team members – hire, train, and oversee daily work, manage performance, and conduct terminations in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure quality compliance, including determining quality improvement parameters, owning CAPA projects, and serving as Facilities SME for client and regulatory audits.
  • Provide a safe workplace: enforce safety policies, report unsafe conditions, and elevate safety issues and injuries to required timelines.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies.
  • Other duties as assigned, noting that responsibilities may evolve over time.

  • Proven experience leading, managing, and coaching team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proven equipment/facilities related project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Job Specifications
  • Education: Associate degree or higher.
  • Experience: 7‑10 years of biotech or GMP industry experience in program management.
  • Experience: 5+ years of people management and development.
  • Experience: 5+ years of facilities and/or equipment maintenance.
  • Experience writing or executing validations.
  • Experience overseeing and implementing large projects.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites occasionally.
Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this position at full‑time is $124,937 – $181,157 per year. Typically, new hires are brought in at or near the midpoint of the range to allow for future growth and advancement within the role.

The BioLife Solutions total rewards program includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with generous match, life and disability insurance, and time off programs (Vacation and Sick time). In addition, cash bonus or stock equity grants may be provided based on company performance.
