The Senior Manager Facilities is responsible for overseeing facilities and equipment at our WA sites (Bothell and Woodinville). This position ensures all programs are in compliance with standards and policies and are appropriate for use as the business grows. This position supports new product/equipment or system introduction and process improvement activities through robust validation and qualification design and execution. The Senior Manager Facilities oversees the Facilities department and provides leadership, management and coaching to team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Management
    • Owns and oversees equipment/facilities qualification and preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance to all SOPs and Standards.
    • Ensure all equipment is calibrated, maintained and operational in accordance to the manufacturing schedule.
    • Take proactive action to ensure BioLife Solution's operations continually using the most suitable equipment and facilities support systems available.
  • Facility Management
    • Full on-site oversight of facilities operations and services in leased and owned offices, inclusive of critical lab spaces and cleanroom environments.
    • Oversight responsibilities could expand as other facilities are added to the business.
    • Ensure continual operation of cGMP cleanrooms.
    • Ensure appropriate triage and execution of all facilities related tasks in alignment with KPI targets
    • Manages cGMP facility pest control program.
    • Manages cGMP and non-cGMP cleaning program (non-clean room space).
    • Manages facility access control program.
    • Manage facility waste stream program.
    • Maintains relationship with Building Management.
    • Tracks all building maintenance request to completion
    • Coordinate office requirements for space planning, furniture, or cubicle assignment.
    • Develop and report functional KPIs and associated performance goals.
  • Leads, manages and coaches Team Members
  • Hires and trains members of the team.
  • Oversee the daily work of department team members.
  • Maintains team member performance and terminations in accordance with company policy.
  • Quality Compliance
    • Ensures the program is compliant to applicable quality requirements.
    • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes. Owns implementation of quality improvements as assigned, in partnership with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing.
    • Performs investigations and owns CAPA projects to effective implementation, as assigned.
    • Perform as Facilities SME for all client and regulatory audit and inspections
  • Safety
    • Ensure self and team work in safe and responsible manner; not putting self or others at risk.
    • Comply with applicable policies & regulations including but not limited to using personal safety gear, observing warning signs, learning about potential hazards, and reporting all unsafe conditions as soon as possible.
    • Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace in compliance with applicable policies & regulations.
    • Reports and appropriately escalate all safety issues and all injuries within required timelines.
    • Management of building code and regulatory compliance in partnership with Environmental Health & Safety team
  • Other
    • Be a resource for equipment and facility validation for other BioLife platforms.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and/or participating in professional societies.
    • Develops functional KPIs and associated performance goals. Achieves those goals.

Job Requirements:

Job Specifications:
  • Education Minimum: Associate degree or higher.
  • Experience: 7-10 years of Biotech or GMP industry experience in program management.
  • Experience: 5+ years of people management and development.
  • Experience: 5+ years of facilities and/or equipment maintenance
  • Experience writing or executing validations.
  • Experience overseeing and implementing large projects.
  • CMRP Certification desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (word, excel, outlook, etc.).
  • Smartsheet experience desired.
  • Must be willing to travel to other sites occasionally.

The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $124,937 - $181,157 per year. Typically, new hires are brought in at or near the midpoint of the range to allow for future growth and advancement within the role. This range represents the full compensation range for this position, with consideration given to experience, skills, and qualifications. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks. Individual pay within a level is determined by work location (including geographic pay zone region), job related skills, experience, education, and training.
