The impact you'll make
At Lam, as an Engineering Technician, you play a crucial role in supporting activities including design, test, modification, and assembly of electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment. Referencing schematics, diagrams, and descriptions, you conduct testing and troubleshooting. You'll perform fault isolation and assist in determining methods to remedy malfunctions. Your commitment to precision and problem-solving enhances Lam's engineering systems.

What you'll do
  • Perform testing, check-out, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, descriptions, layouts, or defined plans.
  • Tests and troubleshoots system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems.
  • Inspect materials, components, or products for surface defects and measure circuitry, using electronic test equipment, precision measuring instruments, microscope, and standard procedures.
  • Conduct operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment, help in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • Support the design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment.
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
  • Collaborates with development engineers conducting engineering tests to collect design data or support in research efforts.

Who we're looking for
  • 2-4 years of related work experience.
  • Firsthand experience with installation, maintenance, repair, testing, or troubleshooting of equipment or electronics.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work a shift schedule.

Preferred qualifications
  • Associates degree, Technical Certificate, Diploma or higher in a technical field.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, metrology, lab operations, or related areas.
  • Experience in semiconductor experience is a plus.
