Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The professional guidance and student-focused instruction in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry utilizes hands-on training with state-of-the-art instrumentation in synthesis and analytical techniques. All students, starting in their first year, are encouraged to participate in innovative interdisciplinary research experiences to enhance their occupationally relevant degree. Our future-ready graduates are prepared for successful careers in industry, academia, and health sciences.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
  • Teaching undergraduate (lectures but primarily laboratories) and/or graduate courses in Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
To teach undergraduate courses:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Chemistry or Biochemistry or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required at the time of hire.

To teach graduate courses:
  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Record of past teaching experiences as instructor of record at the collegiate level
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
