Job Title: Sr Research Scientist - Biochemistry
Job Description

We are seeking a Sr Research Scientist specializing in Biochemistry to design, develop, and execute various biochemical and biophysical assays. This role involves supporting hit identification, validation, and mechanistic studies of various modalities, including inhibitors, activators, and degraders. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience in laboratory settings and expertise in enzymology, biochemical assays, and biophysics.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute biochemical and biophysical assays to support hit identification, validation, and mechanistic studies.
  • Troubleshoot assay performance issues by analyzing assay variability and optimizing protocols for robustness and reproducibility.
  • Perform high-throughput screening and related assays to evaluate compound libraries, assessing affinity, specificity, and binding kinetics.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data using statistical software, presenting findings in reports and discussions.
  • Support protein expression and purification workflows to generate high-quality proteins for assays.
  • Operate and maintain lab instrumentation including multimode plate readers and automated liquid handlers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic lab notebooks and contribute to technical documentation.
Essential Skills
  • Fundamental understanding of enzymology, biochemical assays, and biophysics.
  • Experience in basic biochemistry lab work, including buffer preparation, reagent generation, and assay development.
  • Hands-on experience with protein purification and characterization.
