Job description

Adjunct Faculty Positions – Chemistry and Biochemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Misericordia University invites applications for part-time faculty positions to teach undergraduate chemistry lecture and lab courses beginning in fall 2026 semester.

We seek qualified instructors for the following courses:

  • CHM 120 - The Body’s Chemistry in Health and Disease - Introductory Chemistry for Nursing Students

  • CHM 104/104 L - General Chemistry I - General, Organic, and Biochemistry (lecture and laboratory)

  • CHM 133 L - Chemical Principles ( laboratory)

Courses may be offered during daytime and/or evening hours and remotely depending on departmental and student needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or closely related field

  • Demonstrated content knowledge in assigned teaching areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate teaching experience (lecture and/or lab)

  • Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard) and technology‑enhanced instruction

  • Instructors for laboratory courses will be required to implement the syllabus, experiments, laboratory activities, assessments, and/or grading standards provided by the Lab Coordinator or Department Chair.
