Labcorp is seeking a Bioanalytical Lead Scientist Ito join our team in Madison, WI.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1st shift

Job Summary:

The Bioanalytical Lead Scientist I will serve as the technical expert in developing bioassay, and the use of LCMS (Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) techniques to conduct sophisticated sample preparation to meet bioanalytical needs for drug discovery and preclinical studies, including bioanalysis of drugs and metabolites, biomarkers, and active endogenous compounds in biological fluids and tissues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute fast PK bioanalytical support for discovery programs, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality pharmacokinetic data.
  • Develop, optimize, and apply LC-MS/MS methods for quantitative analysis of compounds in biological matrices.
  • Oversee high-throughput sample preparation and analytical workflows, leveraging automation and liquid handling technologies to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Provide scientific leadership in data interpretation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of bioanalytical processes.
  • Review, analyze, and communicate bioanalytical data and PK results to cross-functional teams and management.
  • Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the development of bioanalytical capabilities, best practices, and laboratory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, data integrity standards, and applicable regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies and workflows to enhance throughput, efficiency, and scientific excellence in bioanalysis.
  • Able to lead and direct scientific work to support internal methods and projects, of moderate complexity.
  • Actively promotes collaboration between and across groups.
  • Promotes a positive impression of Labcorp internally and within the industry.
  • Able to plan, prioritize, and manage workload for large and complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high volume study work for key clients.
  • Takes accountability and demonstrates responsibility regarding scientific study conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in Bioanalytical Science, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on bioanalytical LC-MS/MS experience, including sample preparation, method development, and quantitative analysis of small/large molecules in biological matrices.
  • 2 or more years of experience supporting pharmacokinetic (PK) studies in a drug discovery or development environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Bioanalytical Science, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience in fast PK bioanalysis supporting discovery and DMPK studies using LC-MS/MS.
  • 2 or more years of experience with high-throughput bioanalytical workflows, including automated liquid handling systems and workflow optimization.

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead bioanalytical projects, troubleshoot complex analytical challenges, and deliver high-quality data under aggressive timelines.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with experience mentoring scientists and working effectively in cross-functional teams.
