This role is set in an outpatient office that emphasizes a therapeutic atmosphere, encouraging open communication and collaboration among team members while primarily functioning remotely. • Conduct thorough and compassionate assessments to evaluate the symptoms, challenges, and needs of clients facing eating disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
• Collaborate with clients to develop tailored treatment plans that set realistic, achievable recovery goals while considering their unique circumstances and emotional hurdles.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in individual therapy sessions.
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions that focus on correcting clients’ distorted beliefs regarding food, body image, and self-worth, fostering a healthier mental state.
• Assist clients in building effective coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and tools to combat disordered eating patterns and thoughts.
• Engage actively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate client care, ensuring comprehensive support throughout the recovery journey.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about the nature of eating disorders, thereby promoting a robust support system during the treatment process.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress in accordance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in regular meetings and case conferences to continually improve therapeutic techniques and share insights with colleagues.

The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals who face various eating disorders, ranging from anorexia and bulimia to binge-eating disorder. Our clients often experience complex emotional and psychological challenges, necessitating tailored therapeutic approaches that address both the mental and physiological aspects of their conditions. You will play a critical role in fostering a safe space for clients to explore their struggles and work towards meaningful recovery.

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic practices specific to the treatment of eating disorders.
• A strong understanding of the complexity surrounding eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of building rapport and trust with clients and their families.

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a mental health counseling role focusing on eating disorders is highly preferred.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care will be an asset.

• Annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 104,000, commensurate with experience and specialization.
