Job description

Job Title: BIM Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented BIM Specilaist to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers to develop and coordinate Building Information Models (BIM) for commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience creating detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) models and will play a key role in producing accurate, field-ready construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, and maintain BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems using Autodesk Revit.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Project Managers, and design teams throughout all phases of project development.
  • Produce detailed construction drawings, layouts, and coordinated 3D models in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Participate in BIM coordination efforts, identifying and resolving design conflicts between disciplines.
  • Ensure models and drawings are accurate, complete, and constructible through quality control reviews.
  • Incorporate design revisions and maintain model integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Generate drawings, schedules, and documentation to support construction and installation teams.
  • Assist in preparing field-ready models and construction packages.
Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, including Revit MEP.
  • Experience modeling HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems.
  • Understanding of BIM processes, construction documentation, and drafting standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or related education in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing Revit and BIM software within the engineering, construction, or design-build industry.
  • Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary project collaboration.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, or other BIM-related software.
Work Environment

This position is based in a collaborative office environment and requires close interaction with Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers. The BIM Technician will contribute to the successful delivery of projects by developing accurate, coordinated models that support design, construction, and installation efforts. Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
