Job Description

BIM Specialist III

Role Purpose

The BIM Specialist III leads the implementation and advancement of BIM environments, standards, and digital workflows across projects. This role focuses on technical ownership of delivery systems, ensuring consistency, performance, and alignment with regional and global digital practices. Acting as a senior technical resource, the BIM Specialist III supports complex projects, mentors BIM staff, and drives continuous improvement within multidisciplinary digital delivery environments. This is a newly created position.

The BIM Specialist III operates with a high level of independence and is expected to guide teams, resolve complex technical challenges, and contribute to evolving digital practices.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Delivery, Standards, and Project Leadership

  • Lead setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of BIM environments aligned with company standards.
  • Oversee model health, coordination workflows, QA processes, and performance optimization across projects.
  • Guide project teams in applying structured digital delivery practices and resolving advanced technical challenges.
  • Act as a primary liaison between project teams and Digital/BIM leadership on technical delivery matters.
  • Promote consistency across projects through governance of templates, shared parameters, content libraries, and repeatable workflows.

Process Development and Team Leadership

  • Mentor BIM Specialists and provide technical leadership within project environments
  • Lead onboarding of teams into established digital workflows and collaboration practices.
  • Identify workflow gaps and drive practical process improvements.
  • Contribute to development of training material, internal standards, and best practice guidance.

Level of Responsibility

  • Works with minimal supervision and is trusted to lead technical aspects of digital delivery.
  • Expected to independently resolve complex issues and provide direction to junior staff.

Technical

  • Advanced understanding of BIM authoring environments, project setup, and coordinated delivery.
  • Strong experience with multidisciplinary model environments and structured standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex digital workflows and model issues.
  • Experience with automation tools or scripting is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum: 

  • A University Degree plus 4 (four) years of experience in Building Information Modeling. 
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. 
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills. 
  • Process driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of BIM authoring environments, project setup, and coordinated delivery. 
  • Strong experience with multidisciplinary model environments and structured standards. 
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex digital workflows and model issues. 
  • Experience with automation tools or scripting is strongly preferred.
