Job description

Position: Foreman

Reports To: Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY

Directly supervise, manage, and coordinate activities of electricians, apprentices, helpers, and temporary workers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead by example
  • Overlook the crew and direct work in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines and coordinate with Superintendent and other trades Foreman's, to ensure compliance with overall project schedule.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and assign the activities of electrician, apprentices, helpers and temp workers

Training and Development

  • Assist Superintendent with review process for both Adams employees and associates
  • Work on improving computers and iPad skills
  • Continue education
  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Read specifications and blueprints to plan procedures and determine construction requirements

Scheduling 

  • Work with Superintendent on maintaining schedule related to current project
  • Interpret and truck project schedule to provide two - week look ahead and forecast manpower requirements based on the project goals and schedule.

Material Management / Jobsite logistics

  • Oversite and work with Superintendent on creating and maintaining material management related to current project
  • Work with Superintendent to maintain material and jobsite logistic plan 
  • Prepare material on time

Safety

  • Work with Superintendent and other Foreman's to create and maintain Safety plan related to current project
  • Work with onsite Safety manager to develop safety plan for each task
  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and constriction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Prepare and provide documents such as Jobsite Safety Analysis, Jobsite Hazard Analysis, and safety reports

Quality Control

  • Work with onsite QA/QC Manager to develop the QA/QC plan for each task
  • Work with QA/QC Manager to resolve all QA/QC issues in timely manner
  • Make sure all work is installed on time and quality of installation meet Adams Electric Company standards

BIM / Design

  • Assist Superintendent to lead layout efforts for BIM prior to the project
  • Together with Superintendent review drawings throughout process to ensure quality control
  • Develop open communication with BIM department and feel free to share ideas with BIM department

Pre - Fabrication

  • Oversite and maintain pre - fabrication plan for current project
  • Work with Superintendent on managing installation schedule
  • Share ideas with pre - fabrication foreman
  • Get creative

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Certifications

  • OSHA 30
  • Licensure as an electrician OR
  • 4-10 years related experience or equivalent knowledge and experience

Working Conditions

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (Hard hat, vest, protective eyewear, safety boots.)
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements and background screening process.
