Job description

Billing Supervisor
Location: REMOTE (based in Middle Tennessee)
Schedule: Hybrid
Employment Type: Temporary, 90 days with potential to extend
Soni is seeking an experienced Billing Supervisor to oversee behavioral health billing operations and provide hands-on leadership to a high-volume billing team. This role will work closely with both internal stakeholders and an offshore billing team to ensure accurate, timely claims and efficient billing processes.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead and support a team of billing specialists, including an offshore team
  • Oversee high-volume billing operations and ensure accuracy of submitted claims
  • Review and approve billing reports and unclaimed charges
  • Work hands-on with billers to troubleshoot issues and improve performance
  • Resolve billing and payment issues with patients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and improve billing procedures while maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Partner with internal teams and vendor partners to ensure billing goals are met
What We're Looking For:
  • 6-8+ years of billing experience with significant team leadership/supervisory experience
  • Strong experience in a high-volume billing environment
  • Hands-on experience with both UB-04 and CMS-1500 claims - required
  • Experience leading or managing offshore billing teams - required
  • Strong knowledge of practice management systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Behavioral health billing experience is highly preferred, but not required for the right candidate
  • Experience with Lightning Step is a strong plus
