Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Insurance Follow-Up Specialist to join a growing healthcare team in Knoxville, TN. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates with experience in medical billing, insurance claims follow-up, and revenue cycle management.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating unpaid and underpaid claims, communicating with insurance providers, and ensuring timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with healthcare billing regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up on outstanding insurance claims with commercial, government, and managed care payers
  • Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies
  • Verify claim status and document all account activity accurately
  • Work aging accounts receivable (AR) to maximize reimbursement
  • Submit claim corrections, appeals, and supporting documentation as needed
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies regarding claim resolution
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards while meeting department goals
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues


Qualifications

  • 1+ year of medical billing or insurance follow-up experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding concepts
