SMArtX Advisory Solutions is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our Finance Team. This role will support the companyโ€™s monthly billing and accounts receivable processes and play an important part in maintaining accurate revenue, customer account balances, and billing records.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This individual should take ownership of assigned responsibilities, consistently meet deadlines, and approach their work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.


Roles & Responsibilities



  • Assist with the monthly billing process to ensure invoices are accurate and completed on schedule.

  • Generate and distribute monthly invoices to customers.

  • Post revenue accurately within the companyโ€™s accounting and billing systems.

  • Post payments received to the appropriate customer accounts.

  • Reconcile customer accounts and research payment discrepancies, deficits, and unapplied balances.

  • Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up professionally with customers regarding unpaid balances.

  • Update, review, and verify customer billing rates within the companyโ€™s proprietary billing system.

  • Respond to customer billing inquiries and assist with resolving account discrepancies.

  • Maintain accurate and organized billing records and supporting documentation.

  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the manager.


Qualifications



  • One to two years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a related accounting function.

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of relevant education, professional credentials, coursework, and practical experience will be considered.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and SUMIFS.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.

  • Experience with SAP Ariba is a plus.

  • Previous experience working with proprietary billing or accounting systems is preferred.
