Job Description
 
One of the premier Orthopedics and Pain Management clinics is seeking a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to support accurate billing, coding, claims processing, and reimbursement activities. Responsibilities:
 
  • Review medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes. 
  • Ensure accurate charge capture, billing compliance, and payer requirements. 
  • Submit insurance claims and monitor accounts for reimbursement issues. 
  • Research and resolve claim rejections, denials, and coding discrepancies. 
  • Communicate with providers and clinical staff to resolve missing or incomplete documentation. 
  • Maintain accurate patient information within EMR and billing systems. 
  • Stay current on coding regulations, payer guidelines, and industry standards.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
 
  • Minimum of 3 years of specialty billing and coding experience in one of the following specialties: Pain Management, Orthopedics, Neurology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Cardiology, and/or Podiatry
  • Experience using EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Athena, Allscripts, Practice Fusion, and AdvancedMD is required. 
  • Having a Medical Billing/Coding certification is preferred.
