Job description

Multilingual Instructional Assistant


Status: Full Time, up to 40 hours per week


Evaluated By: Building Administrator/Multilingual Teacher


Evaluation: As needed and at least once per school year


Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with staff and students
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor(s) in person and in writing to receive assignments/directions
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree



Daily Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Multilingual Teacher and any classroom teacher(s) in the implementation of the individual students’ ILP
  • Support students in general education classes
  • Monitor student progress in general education classes
  • Keep the Multilingual Teacher informed of academic progress and behavioral concerns
  • Tutor individual students or groups of students
  • Check students’ work and assist students with make-up work
  • Provide escort, assistance, and supervision to students
  • Assist any teacher with daily supervision of students in the classroom, restroom, during emergency drills, assemblies, free time, recess, and field trips
  • Alert and inform the Multilingual Teacher of any problems or specific information concerning individual students
  • Create and copy instructional work
  • Participate in in-service training programs
  • Gather materials/supplies
  • Maintain the high level of confidentiality on student information, work, and progress
  • Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all school personnel at all times
  • Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities or duties assigned by the ELL teacher, classroom teacher(s), and/or building administrator(s)
  • Operate and use technology (iPad, Computer, Apps, CANVAS, etc.)
