About the Opportunity

Brighton Solutions is seeking an Engineering Project Coordinator to support a nationally recognized testing laboratory specializing in product testing, certification, and technical evaluations of construction-related products.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining project management with technical problem-solving. You'll coordinate multiple product testing projects, serve as a primary internal client contact, work alongside engineers and laboratory technicians, and help ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

If you're organized, technically minded, and enjoy working in an engineering or laboratory environment, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your project management career.

What You'll Do
  • Manage multiple product testing projects from initiation through completion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout each project.
  • Coordinate schedules between clients, engineers, laboratory technicians, and support staff.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, test plans, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure testing activities remain on schedule while meeting project scope and quality standards.
  • Monitor project milestones, identify risks, and proactively resolve scheduling or technical issues.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, testing records, photographs, and reports.
  • Guide customers through the testing and certification process while providing regular project updates.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable quality standards, including ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to improve testing processes and project workflows.
  • Support laboratory operations while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Fire Protection, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 2+ years of project management, project coordination, engineering, laboratory, testing, manufacturing, construction, or technical operations experience.
  • Experience working in a testing laboratory, engineering environment, manufacturing facility, or Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) organization is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and testing documentation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Experience with project management software or laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Experience with ISO quality systems is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout portions of the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work around laboratory testing equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.
  • Comfortable working in both laboratory and office environments.
