Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Commercial P&C underwriting team.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to underwriting staff and team members.
  • Review, evaluate, and underwrite commercial insurance risks in accordance with
  • carrier guidelines.
  • Oversee the preparation, placement, and servicing of commercial accounts with
  • insurance carriers.
  • Maintain effective communication with producers, carriers, and clients.
  • Monitor renewals, endorsements, and new business submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with agency procedures, carrier requirements, and regulatory
  • standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, underwriting processes, and operational
  • efficiency.
  • Support the professional development and performance of team members.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) underwriting.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Cover All system is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, risk evaluation, and
  • underwriting practices.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Professional insurance designation such as CIC, CISR, or related preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Puerto Rico insurance market is highly desirable.
