Service Technician

Position Profile

Reports To: Service Manager

FLSA Status: Part or Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Updated: April 2025


Summary

A Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining bicycles and other products sold at ERIK'S to ensure safe and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all repairs meet safety standards and quality expectations
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and parts
  • Staying current with product knowledge, service procedures, and technical updates
  • Supporting inventory management by identifying parts needed and restocking supplies as required
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and providing customers with clear explanations and repair recommendations
  • Providing exceptional customer service by communicating effectively and creating a welcoming experience

Additional Responsibilities

To successfully host the party, every retail team member must remain flexible to meet both customer and store needs. Regardless of your primary responsibilities, you are expected to step in and support wherever needed to drive the overall success of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bicycle mechanics or related skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities-both verbal and written.
  • Customer-first mindset with excellent service skills.
  • Proficiency with technology and computer systems.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High personal accountability and a results-driven approach.
  • Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment.
