Job description

SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.


As a Bid Manager, you will join our talented team within SYSTRA Canada’s Business Development department and report to the Director of Tendering. You will be responsible for developing “Transportation” bids across Canada, from identifying client needs through to contract signing and implementation, in collaboration with our three business units.


  • Manage and lead large-scale, company-critical tender projects by aligning business objectives with our clients’ needs.
  • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders (technical contributors, finance, legal, sales, Health & Safety, quality, and senior management teams, as well as external partners) to successfully navigate all stages of the bidding process and produce technically sound and financially competitive bids.
    Use your interpersonal skills to inspire and persuade these stakeholders.
  • Prepare turnkey proposals covering a full range of services (Consulting, design, owner’s engineering, etc.) and contractual models (traditional design, design-build, progressive design and build). Monitor timelines, proposal costs, and internal validation procedures.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts across the rest of the group (internal network of bid teams) to continuously improve the content of our bids and the performance of our process by sharing feedback and best practices.
  • Participate in market research and the development of strategic plans in collaboration with the Marketing teams (Market Analysis and Strategy).

Education: Degree in engineering or business.
Years of experience: Between 5 and 10 years of experience in a bid response role within the transportation sector and/or at a professional services firm.
