Summary HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification to support the design, implementation, and sustainment of critical communications infrastructure for Department of Defense and federal customers.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with structured cabling systems, inside and outside plant (ISP/OSP) design, and building communications distribution architectures that meet BICSI, NEC, TIA, and DoD UFC standards. This role supports facility design efforts, develops engineering design packages, conducts site surveys, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure communications pathways. What You Will Do โ€ข Develop detailed telecommunications infrastructure designs, including ISP/OSP cabling, pathway layouts, telecom spaces (MDF/IDF), and network distribution systems โ€ข Produce engineering design packages, drawings, and specifications compliant with BICSI, UFC, NEC, TIA, and DoD requirements โ€ข Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure, identify deficiencies, and propose upgrade or expansion solutions โ€ข Create and review engineering documentation such as rack elevations, one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and as-built records โ€ข Work alongside network engineering, facilities engineering, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration with program needs โ€ข Provide technical oversight during installation to ensure alignment with design intent and industry best practices โ€ข Support system integration, testing, and quality assurance activities โ€ข Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, technical briefings, and project coordination sessions โ€ข Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and DoD communications requirements What You Must Have โ€ข 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

โ€ข Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent experience โ€ข Current RCDD certification โ€ข 7+ years of experience designing structured cabling systems, communications infrastructure, or network distribution architecture โ€ข Strong understanding of ISP/OSP cabling systems, telecom room design, and communications pathways โ€ข Experience developing design packages using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools โ€ข Knowledge of BICSI, NEC, TIA, and DoD UFC standards โ€ข Ability to conduct site surveys and produce accurate engineering documentation (drawings, cable schedules, as builts) โ€ข Excellent communication, technical writing, and customer facing skills Preferred Requirements โ€ข Experience supporting DoD, federal, or mission critical communications environments โ€ข BICSI Technician or other industry certifications (CTS, CFHP, etc.) โ€ข Experience with C5ISR, command center, or secure facility infrastructure design โ€ข Familiarity with RMF, cybersecurity fundamentals, or secure communications requirements โ€ข Knowledge of power systems, grounding, and bonding for communications infrastructure Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
