Description:

Data Visualization & Reporting Designer

Position Summary

The Data Visualization & Reporting Designer is responsible for transforming business data into clear, intuitive, and visually compelling reporting experiences that support operational and strategic decision-making across the organization.

This role focuses on the user experience of reporting. The ideal candidate understands how to organize information, highlight key insights, and create dashboards that tell a story. Rather than building complex data models or backend data structures, this position works closely with business stakeholders and the BI team to design reports that are engaging, actionable, and easy to understand.

The Data Visualization & Reporting Designer reports to the Vice President of Software & Integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Create visually appealing and intuitive reporting experiences that help users quickly understand and act on data
  • Partner with business users to understand reporting needs, business processes, and decision-making requirements
  • Transform business requirements into effective dashboards, scorecards, KPI displays, and analytical reports
  • Design report layouts, navigation, drill-through experiences, filters, and interactive features that enhance usability
  • Apply data visualization best practices to improve clarity, readability, and user adoption
  • Focus on storytelling through data by presenting information in a way that highlights trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Ensure consistency in design standards, report organization, and user experience across reporting solutions
  • Utilize existing datasets, semantic models, and measures provided by the BI Development and Data Engineering teams
  • Test and validate reports to ensure accuracy, usability, and performance
  • Continuously improve existing reports based on user feedback and evolving business needs
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across departments and business units
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Experience designing and developing dashboards and reports in Power BI

  • Strong eye for layout, presentation, organization, and visual communication
  • Familiarity with KPI dashboards, operational reporting, and business performance metrics
  • Portfolio or examples of dashboard, reporting, or visualization work strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
