Job Summary:  


Federal Government contractor is seeking an experienced Primavera P6 Technical / Development resource for a full-time engagement with an anticipated duration of six (6) months. The technical resource is responsible for the installation, configuration, integration, and technical maintenance of the Oracle Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) environment in support of a federal program. Working closely with the functional lead and project controls team, this individual builds and sustains the underlying technical solution—including database administration, integrations, custom reporting, and data migration—to ensure a stable, secure, and performant application. Focus is on the effective implementation of business processes, usability, and data accuracy within the application. The position calls for excellent communication skills, effective presentation skills, and strong technical problem-solving skills. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Primavera P6 EPPM across development, test, and production environments. 
  • Perform database administration activities supporting P6 (Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server), including schema management, backups, tuning, and troubleshooting. 
  • Design, develop, and support integrations between P6 and external systems using Oracle Primavera Gateway, P6 Web Services/APIs, and related integration technologies. 
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and data extracts (e.g., BI Publisher / Oracle Analytics) to meet program reporting requirements. 
  • Support integration of P6 schedule data with cost and Earned Value Management tools (e.g., Deltek Cobra) and enterprise reporting environments. 
  • Plan and execute data migration, cleansing, and validation activities in support of implementation and upgrades. 
  • Configure and administer application security, user provisioning, and role-based access consistent with federal security requirements. 
  • Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot application and database performance, and resolve technical incidents. 
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting the SDLC, including configuration, integration, and deployment artifacts. 
  • Collaborate with the functional lead to translate configuration requirements into technical solutions and support functional testing and go-live. 
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple, dynamic priorities in a fast-paced federal program environment. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or other technically relevant degree. 
  • 8+ years of IT / application development experience, with a minimum of four years of technical experience supporting Oracle Primavera P6 (P6 EPPM preferred). 

Required Skills: 

  • Hands-on experience with the installation, configuration, upgrade, and administration of Oracle Primavera P6 (EPPM/Professional). 
  • 8+ years of technical experience, with a minimum of four years supporting Primavera P6 in a technical/development capacity. 
  • Strong database skills with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL/PL-SQL and performance tuning. 
  • Experience developing integrations using Oracle Primavera Gateway, P6 Web Services, and/or REST/SOAP APIs. 
  • Experience developing custom reports and data extracts (e.g., BI Publisher, Oracle Analytics, or equivalent). 
  • Experience with data migration, transformation, and validation between systems. 
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail, be organized, and able to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and executives. 
  • Must be a team player and be able to adjust to a dynamic working environment for a government agency. 
  • Must have strong written, verbal, and listening skills. 
  • Must have strong analytical skills and can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. 

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience supporting Primavera P6 for federal or Department of Defense customers. 
  • Experience integrating P6 with Earned Value Management cost tools such as Deltek Cobra or MPM. 
  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic, application server administration, or middleware supporting P6 EPPM.
