Job Description

Title: Business Intelligence Developer
Duration: 3+ month contract
Location: Seattle, WA

Qualifications

Creation of new data tables in VANS redshift cluster to match PM requirements. Migration of data jobs to new cluster. New EDX jobs to pull relevant partner teams and customer order history data.

Data modeling, ETL, and Data Warehousing experience 5+ years; or 2 years related Amazon experience
4+ years of experience data modeling and transformation of large scale data sources
Preferred skills
Experience with AWS and Big Data Platforms such as Spark/Hive/Hadoop
Experience with MPP databases such as Redshift or Netezza
Experience with data processing using custom scripts to pull and load from APIs or Files.
Experience with Python or similar programming/scripting language(s).
Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team
Experience working with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, Oracle BI, Pentaho, etc
Soft Skills
People who are very focused and have experience working on a fast pace. The team has lot of day to day work and deliverables. Projects or reports that need be completed within a couple of hours or day and delivered.
Somebody who has experience working in a environment with day to day deliverables, scrappy with their work, deliver fast 80% accuracy is good enough, not very detail oriented, this is not a position for people who are not able to handle ambiguity.
Someone is not sticking to formality. Not sticking to books, how does shopping really work, going extra mile.
Great opportunity for extension and conversion to FTE.
Self-motivated, independent and goal-oriented, a fast learner with good communication skills
What does a typical work day entail? Do you anticipate any OT(Overtime, schedule, etc.?)
9 to 5 work day---40 hours. Overtime will be required on an as needed basis.
Length of Assignment? Is there any possibility the project could go longer?
There is a good possibility of extension and eventually conversion to FTE depending on the performance.
