Summary:
  • The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer leads complex BI projects, drives data solutions, and provides mentorship to junior developers. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable BI solutions, data pipelines, and reporting structures while ensuring adherence to BI development best practices, data governance, quality, and security standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Own the design, development, and optimization of business intelligence solutions.
  • Develop and maintain scalable BI solutions that support organizational and business objectives.
  • Create complex data models and reporting structures to enhance business decision-making.
  • Design and build real-time dashboards to monitor KPIs and operational performance.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL scripts for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to identify analytical requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and actionable insights.
  • Establish and enforce best practices related to data governance, data quality, security, and BI development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex BI, data, and reporting issues efficiently.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior BI developers.
  • Stay current with emerging business intelligence technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job RequirementsEducation & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field is preferred.

Experience & Technical Qualifications:
  • Approximately 8 years of IT experience with a strong focus on business intelligence, data modeling, and analytics.
  • Strong expertise in ETL design and development using tools such as SSIS, Talend, or similar technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, including query optimization and database performance-tuning techniques.
  • Proficiency with BI platforms such as Power BI, OBIEE, and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
  • Extensive experience with data warehousing concepts, including OLTP/OLAP architectures and dimensional data models.
  • Hands-on experience with data transformation, staging, cleansing, and integration processes.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and diverse data sources.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
