About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role, being responsible for executing start up, commissioning and training at customer locations for mechanical, electrical, and performance testing on Belt Presses, ISO-Discs and/or SBR Floating Decanters /Package Plants. You will have the opportunity to ensure reliable operation, optimum performance and efficiency, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.

Currently, this is a Remote opportunity located in United States, preferred in the East Coast.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Perform start-up and commissioning according to specified procedures, including functionality tests FAT and completion of SAT tests.
  • Report results and provides feedback to the project team.
  • Provide customer training (classroom and hand-on) on our equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Familiar with equipment parameters tuning to optimize performance.
  • Familiar with reviewing Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) flow chart.
  • Performs site inspections & installation supervision prior to commissioning activities.
  • Performs pre-commissioning activities (IO check, vacuum test, dry runs etc.) in person and digitally.
  • Take part in customer meetings during startup, testing and site activities.
  • Provides remote support to customers.
  • Familiar with commonly used instrumentation and electrical component set up such as flow meter, pressure / flow switches, VFD, etc.
  • Understand basic electrical schematics and perform basic troubleshooting during startup.
  • Assist project managers in ensuring that plants and systems delivered to customers meet specifications when shipped from AL.
  • Participate in project reviews to ensure that experiences from previous commissioning jobs are incorporated into new projects and standard concepts.
  • Conduct performance reviews of installations already handed over to customers.
  • Can perform start-up of Alfa Laval equipment (installation, mechanical assembly, control parameters, motor ID runs, etc.).
  • Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company and customer's safety procedure in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Create job time and expense reports, commissioning reports, and payroll reports as required by all field service technicians.
  • Obtain Signed Time Summary sheets/commissioning report from the customer upon completion of job.
  • Perform Field Service jobs and training as needed.
  • Comfortable interacting with customers in professional manners.

What you know:

You have a Diploma / associate's degree in engineering or related field, bachelor's degree a plus, with relevant experience, and:

  • 5+ years of field service or equivalent experience. The service experience should be aligned to the products (Ashbrook BFP).
  • Customer Service and sales orientation.
  • High Service Cultural Competence.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Troubleshoot Electrical issues and/or controls.
  • Basic automation skills.
  • Ability to upload programs for controls/automation.
  • Ability to communicate Operational and Safety parameters of the equipment to the customer.
  • Ability to troubleshoot & solve technical problems.
  • Team Player and ability to work independently.
  • Basic PC utilization skills required in Microsoft Office.
  • Perform jobs in line with OHSA requirements.
  • Complete established safety training programs.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Travel availability between 75% to 85%.
