Job Description

The Art Director will lead projects and teams to develop and build concepts, presentations, storyboards, designs, and animations for all west coast projects across a breadth of entertainment media brands, both traditional and non-traditional. Critical thinking, problem- solving, and experience with brands from identity to systems are required of this position. The Art Director will collaborate with Creative Directors, Producers, Creatives, and Writers to deliver professional, pixel-perfect final deliverables for projects ranging from small show packages and explorations to large-scale network rebrands. The Art Director must be able to design within an established brand identity yet think creatively to extend the brand in relevant, meaningful ways.


KEY DUTIES

Spearhead development of all creative for projects, collaborating with Creative Directors and Producers

Supervise creative teams to meet all deadlines

Participate in meetings with senior clients and internal teams, with the ability to

effectively describe and present design ideas and recommendations

Provide quality control over concepts and projects

Encourage a culture that provides continuous feedback and support

Set clear goals for the team

Coordinate with producers and the marketing team to develop promotional materials

of all projects, including case studies and "behind-the-scenes" materials


Qualifications


ABOUT YOU

8+ years professional design experience for entertainment brands at top branding agency or motion graphics studio

Conceptual development and layout skills, mastery of typography, color theory, and the fundamentals of graphic design

Well-crafted written, verbal, and presentation skills with internal and external clients

Interaction design, environmental design, illustration, and live-action direction skills are

a plus

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask

Ability to work independently as well as with internal teams and clients to manage

multiple complex projects

Technical understanding of file deliveries

Skill to execute multiple creative solutions within the same brief

Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud; Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & Premiere

Proficiency in Final Cut & Cinema 4D (or another 3D package) a plus.

Knowledge of Mac OS X, including Pages & Keynote

Knowledge of Gmail, Google Calendars, and Google Drive

BFA or equivalent degree from top design school
