Job description

About Killington Distillery

Killington Distillery is a Vermont craft distillery located in the heart of Killington. We produce a growing portfolio of craft spirits and are looking for an outgoing, motivated Sales Representative to help expand our presence throughout Vermont and surrounding markets.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and representing a local Vermont brand. We’re looking for someone who can help strengthen our existing accounts while actively developing new business with bars, restaurants, retailers, and other potential partners.

The Position

As a Part-Time Sales Representative, you will represent Killington Distillery in the market and play an important role in growing our wholesale business and brand presence.

This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable getting out into the market, introducing our products to new accounts, following up consistently, and developing long-term relationships with customers.

The position offers a part-time schedule with a combination of hourly pay and commission, giving you the opportunity to earn more as you grow sales and develop new accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new wholesale accounts with bars, restaurants, liquor retailers, hospitality businesses, and other appropriate customers
  • Visit prospective and existing accounts throughout an assigned sales territory
  • Introduce and present Killington Distillery products to buyers, managers, bartenders, and other decision-makers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
  • Identify new sales opportunities and follow up with prospective accounts
  • Conduct product tastings, demonstrations, and educational presentations when appropriate
  • Work with accounts to increase product placement, visibility, and reorders
  • Represent Killington Distillery professionally at tastings, events, festivals, and other promotional opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of account visits, leads, follow-ups, and sales activity
  • Communicate market feedback, customer requests, and new opportunities to the Killington Distillery team
  • Work collaboratively with the distillery team on promotions, new product launches, and sales initiatives
  • Stay knowledgeable about our spirits, production process, brand story, and what differentiates Killington Distillery in the market.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is personable, dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable starting conversations and building relationships.

Previous sales experience is preferred, particularly in beverage alcohol, hospitality, restaurants, retail, or outside sales, but we are also interested in candidates with strong hospitality experience and the personality and motivation to succeed in sales.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional, outgoing, and approachable personality
  • The ability to work independently and manage their own schedule
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Confidence approaching new businesses and developing new relationships
  • An interest in craft spirits, hospitality, and the Vermont beverage industry
  • Previous sales, restaurant, bar, hospitality, or beverage industry experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain organized sales and account records
  • Must meet all applicable legal requirements for representing and promoting alcoholic beverage products

Compensation

$18.00 - 21.00 per hour + Commission

This position combines a competitive hourly wage with commission opportunities based on sales performance and account growth. Pay rate is dependent on experience.

Schedule

This is a part-time position. The role will primarily involve visiting accounts and prospective customers during appropriate business hours, with occasional tastings, festivals, or promotional events that may take place during evenings or weekends.
