What are best jobs?

'Best' is not a specific job title; rather, it is often used as a descriptor for top-performing roles within an industry or company. When searching for the 'best' jobs, people typically refer to positions that offer high salaries, strong job security, growth opportunities, and job satisfaction. The definition of the 'best' job varies depending on individual preferences, such as work-life balance, benefits, or company culture. Career ranking lists, like those from U.S. News & World Report or Glassdoor, often highlight jobs considered the 'best' based on various factors. Ultimately, the 'best' job for one person may not be the same for someone else, as it depends on personal goals and values.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a best, and why are they important?

I'm sorry, but 'Best' is not a recognized real-world professional occupation, so I cannot provide a relevant answer.

Job description

Turn your love of community into a career.

Best Version Media is looking for a driven, community-minded sales professional to join us as a Media Sales Representative.

About Best Version Media

Founded in 2007, Best Version Media (BVM) has spent nearly two decades bringing North American communities together one person, one home, one business at a time. Today, BVM publishes over 1,300 local magazines and reaches billions of digital impressions across North America, helping thousands of local business owners grow.

What You'll Do

This is a field-based, in-person sales role. You'll build your own book of business in your local territory, on a schedule you control, selling advertising placements across BVM's local print magazine and companion digital, social, and website products.

  • Consult: Meet face-to-face with standout local business owners to showcase what makes their community great.
  • Strategize: Build powerful, multi-channel branding programs using our media suite, print, digital, social, websites, and reputation management.
  • Scale: Leverage our proven training and time-tested sales system to grow your own book of business, building community engagement that pays you and your community for years to come.

What You'll Earn

This is a 1099 independent contractor role with no base salary or draw (full commission). Representatives earn a recurring commission on sales, with commission rates generally ranging from 70-80% based on monthly sales volume and performance relative to the baseline* cost structure. Bonuses are available during start-up and on an ongoing basis.

*Baseline is the back-end cost associated with the magazine & digital product's cost to produce, distribute, bill clients, etc, and does not come out of the representative's pocket.

What You Bring

  • Sales Acumen: A drive to help local businesses grow through the art of advertising sales, strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills. Experience with digital or print advertising is a plus, but the right attitude matters most; we provide the training.
  • Growth Mindset: A resilient, never-give-up attitude paired with a proactive approach to learning and continuous self-improvement.
  • Community Focus: A genuine interest in building and nurturing relationships with local business owners, putting their success first.

Why Best Version Media?

  • Support: Comprehensive training and ongoing professional support, we're a community in ourselves.
  • Proven Success: Nearly 20 years serving local communities, with over 1,300 publications and a reach of billions of digital impressions across North America.
  • Culture & Rewards: Our why is simple: bring communities closer, one relationship at a time, and we celebrate the people who make that happen.
    • Earn incentive trips, awards, and friendly contests along the way, all within a flexible schedule built to keep you present for what matters most: friends and family.
