Description
About Alvarez & Marsal
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm with entrepreneurial, action and results-oriented professionals. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients' problems and assisting them in reaching their potential. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact our clients and shape our industry. The collaborative environment and engaging work-guided by A&M's core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity-are why our people love working at A&M.
The Team
Alvarez & Marsal's Corporate Performance Improvement practice is seeking an IT Sourcing & Enterprise Services Manager to rapidly identify and execute against commercial infrastructure sourcing opportunities for clients operating complex, multi-vendor technology environments. This role combines vendor strategy assessment, contract optimization, and enterprise services management to drive material cost reduction, vendor consolidation, and SLA/service quality improvement.
Experience Should Include
• Commercial contract development, review, and negotiation across IT services, software, cloud, infrastructure, and professional services contracts
• Software and hardware asset management - licensing optimization, usage analysis, vendor relationship management across enterprise platforms (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft, etc.)
• Vendor selection, RFP management, competitive bidding, and negotiation (buy-side or sell-side IT services contracting)
• Spend analysis, cost modeling, and identification of sourcing savings opportunities (vendor consolidation, licensing optimization, rate reduction)
• Service level agreement (SLA) definition, measurement, and vendor performance management against contractual KPIs
• Multi-vendor ecosystem management and vendor accountability governance across infrastructure, cloud, and application domains
• Contract governance frameworks and best practices (buy-side and sell-side); legal/procurement partnership
• AI-assisted contract and document discovery for rapid opportunity identification and risk assessment
• Consulting or advisory delivery experience evaluating technology sourcing and commercial terms for enterprise clients
How you will contribute
• Rapid sourcing opportunity assessment - analyze existing vendor contracts, spend, SLAs, and service delivery to identify material cost reduction, consolidation, and performance improvement opportunities
• Commercial opportunity execution - lead vendor negotiations, contract drafting, SLA redesign, and implementation to capture identified savings and improve service quality
• Spend and contract analysis - conduct detailed review of existing contracts, service levels, pricing structures, and vendor performance; model alternative sourcing approaches and financial impact
• Software and hardware asset management - audit licensing utilization, identify optimization opportunities, negotiate volume discounts and licensing terms with vendors
• Vendor relationship management - establish and maintain strategic vendor partnerships; define and enforce KPIs; escalate performance gaps; assess compliance against contractual terms
• SLA definition and governance - develop service level agreements aligned to business requirements; establish measurement frameworks; track vendor accountability against KPIs
• Contract and process documentation - maintain templates, best practices, case studies, and playbooks; build institutional knowledge of vendor terms, pricing, and negotiation outcomes
• Cross-functional coordination - partner with procurement, finance, legal, and operations to align on sourcing strategy and execution; influence across internal and client stakeholders
• Support practice development through internal training, case study development, and team capability building
Qualifications
• 8-12+ years of professional experience in IT commercial contracting, software asset management, vendor management, or sourcing advisory roles
• Proven track record of successfully identifying and executing commercial sourcing opportunities with quantified savings (cost reduction, vendor consolidation, license optimization)
• Experience at a consulting firm (Big Four, boutique advisory, or top tech services firms) or in-house at large global technology organizations
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, IT, Law, or related field
• Certifications in software asset management (CASM), ITIL, PMP, or related areas preferred
• Comfortable with travel up to 80%
What Distinguishes a Great Candidate
Has designed and led large-scale infrastructure and network modernization programs-not just operated existing systems. Understands the dependency between infrastructure readiness and application modernization success. Can work across infrastructure, security, operations, and business teams. Brings AI-assisted infrastructure analysis into the delivery toolkit as standard practice. Comfortable designing for hybrid and multi-cloud environments without being prescriptive about platform choice.
