Job description

Company Description

Domino's Pizza, which began in 1960 as a single store location in Ypsilanti, MI, has had a lot to celebrate lately: we're a reshaped, reenergized brand of honesty, transparency and accountability - not to mention, great food! In the rise to becoming a true technology leader, the brand is now consistently one of the top five companies in online transactions and 85% of our sales in the U.S. are taken through digital channels. The brand continues to 'deliver the dream' to local business owners, 90% of which started as delivery drivers and pizza makers in our stores. That's just the tip of the iceberg...or as we might say, one "slice" of the pie! If this sounds like a brand you'd like to be a part of, consider joining our team!

Job Description

The Senior Data Scientist - Media Decision Science serves as Domino's analytical leader for paid search, local media, and emerging media opportunities. This role helps improve media effectiveness by identifying where Domino's should invest, test, optimize, or evolve its strategy as customer behavior, search, and media platforms continue to change.

This position partners closely with internal marketing teams, agencies, Google, and media platforms to develop data-driven recommendations, establish local media best practices, and evaluate emerging capabilities. Success requires combining analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations that improve media decisions at Domino's.

Responsibilities & Duties

Search, Local, & Emerging Media Strategy

  • Serve as Domino's analytical leader for paid search and emerging media channels, identifying opportunities for media investment and improving existing media effectiveness and business performance.
  • Define best practices for local media investment, including where, when, and how local media should be deployed to maximize impact across markets.
  • Partner with Google, agencies, and internal stakeholders to understand changes in consumer behavior, search, and AI-powered discovery experiences, translating insights into recommendations on where Domino's should test, invest, and innovate.
  • Translate media, marketplace, competitive, and performance insights into actionable recommendations that improve media planning and outcomes.

Media Intelligence & Decision Support

  • Leverage tools such as iSpot, Pathmatics, and other market intelligence sources to monitor competitive activity, media trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Translate market, competitive, and performance data into actionable recommendations that improve media planning and optimization decisions.
  • Identify emerging risks, opportunities, and shifts in the media ecosystem and proactively communicate implications to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a thought leader who challenges conventional thinking and helps shape the future of media strategy and decision-making at Domino's.

Test Design & Incrementality Measurement

  • Design and evaluate experiments and quasi-experimental analyses to measure the incremental impact of media decisions.
  • Select appropriate test designs (e.g., geo tests, holdouts, pre/post analyses, matched markets) based on business context, data availability, and risk.
  • Assess test validity, limitations, and confidence levels, clearly communicating implications for decision-making.

Partner & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners (agencies, media platforms) to align on priorities, measurement approaches, test design, and interpretation of results.
  • Influence leadership decision-making by translating internal and partner analytical findings into clear recommendations on where to invest, test, scale, optimize, or pull back to drive incremental business impact.
  • Maintain strong, productive partner relationships while exercising independent analytical judgment and prioritizing Domino's objectives.
  • Confidently challenge partner recommendations or narratives when data does not support the proposed direction.

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced SQL and Python or R, with experience working in modern analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks or similar) to build analytical datasets, validate data, and support scalable analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and evaluating tests or measurement approaches to assess incremental impact (e.g., media tests, geo experiments, holdouts, or quasi-experimental analyses).
  • Applied machine learning or predictive analytics experience to support measurement, forecasting, or optimization use cases.
  • Ability to translate analysis into decision-ready outputs using BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar).
  • Familiarity applying AI or GenAI tools to enhance analytics and decision support in a responsible, transparent way.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data science, analytics, marketing science, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience translating analytical results into clear recommendations that inform business decisions and performance improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and challenge assumptions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Background in media analytics and measurement preferred.
