Job description

The Computer Technician is responsible for configuring various desktop/laptop computers, installing accessories, loading software, and following specific imaging procedures setup for each customer to image large quantities of desktop and laptop computers per such specifications. They are also responsible for computer repairs.
Responsibilities
  • Install components into desktop/laptop computers per order specifications
  • Install and configure various operating systems based upon requirements
  • Carefully follow imaging/configuration procedures to successfully image computer systems via PXE or other required method
  • Where necessary, enroll computer names/mac addresses into customer database for proper imaging
  • Update BIOS settings
  • Perform proper QC procedures to verify imaging is successful and accurate
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware issues
  • Work closely with sales departments to understand customer expectations with regards to each individual order
  • Respond to all sales department inquiries promptly
  • Communicate missed deadlines promptly to sales teams
  • Complete all necessary paperwork legibly and accurately including serial number records
  • Maintain timely follow up with internal and external customers.
  • Keep Outlook calendar up to date daily with scheduled appointments.
  • Ensure all product is picked per packing list specifications and delivered to the shipping department
  • Actively participate in improving product quality and service to our customers. Make management aware of issues that affect quality and service to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Take a proactive approach to learning by participating in company sponsored training and certification programs as well as personal self-study.
  • Understand and participate in projects such as hardware rollouts
