We are currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Anchorage, AK.
Hope Community Resources, Inc. is a non-profit disabilities service provider based in Anchorage, Alaska. Founded in 1968, our company provides services and supports to people of all ages and abilities who experience an intellectual, developmental, or other disability, traumatic brain injury, or mental health challenge.
As our Senior Staff Accountant you will provide general ledger and accounts payable support within the Fiscal Services department. To be successful in this role, you will ensue the financial systems are accurate and in accordance with professional accounting practices and governmental regulations. The Senior Staff Accountant provides training and assistance to other accounting department staff, as requested. The position completes projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager, including financial analysis and accounting functions, as well as provides financial interpretation and assistance to other departments. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality and professional judgment. The Senior Staff Accountant maintains loyalty to the organization, its beliefs, values, mission, vision, and expectations and to the recipients of services.
Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. Experience in lieu of education may be accepted on a one for one basis in appropriate fields.
  • Three years of direct accounting experience required; experience in accounts payable and preparation of financial statements preferred.
