Job description

    GROUP SALES MANAGER


    The Group Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales and is responsible for driving high-value group, corporate, meetings, and incentive business to Bermuda through proactive sales leadership, account development, and strategic partnership management. The role focuses on securing business from priority sectors aligned with Bermuda's market positioning and leveraging the island's international business ecosystem to generate visitor spend, room nights, and year-round demand.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prospect, qualify, develop, and convert group, meeting, and incentive business opportunities for Bermuda.
    • Manage strategic accounts across target markets and high-value industry sectors.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies that drive room nights, visitor spend, and year-round demand.
    • Coordinate and manage RFP responses and opportunities through the full sales cycle.
    • Identify market trends, opportunities, and partnerships that support business growth and commercial objectives.
    • Leverage Bermuda's international business profile to attract executive meetings, conferences, and incentive travel.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with hotels, venues, DMCs, airlines, meeting planners, and tourism stakeholders.
    • Coordinate site inspections, FAM trips, sales missions, trade events, and client engagement activities.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales initiatives, campaigns, and destination messaging.
    • Manage sales budgets, travel activity, and account plans in accordance with approved objectives.
    • Maintain CRM records, reporting, pipeline tracking, and performance metrics.
    • Monitor KPIs and provide market insights and recommendations to strengthen sales effectiveness.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Hospitality, Tourism, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
    • Professional certifications in Sales, Hospitality, Tourism, Business Development, Marketing, or Project Management would be considered an asset.
    • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in destination sales, hotel sales, MICE, corporate events, business development, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and converting group, meeting, and corporate business opportunities.
    • Experience working with meeting planners, third-party intermediaries, procurement teams, and senior corporate decision-makers.
    • Experience managing CRM systems, lead generation, pipeline reporting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
    • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, communication, presentation, and account management skills.
    • Knowledge of Bermuda's tourism and international business sectors, including corporate meetings and incentive travel, would be considered an asset.
    • Willingness to travel regularly.


    Work Environment
    This position operates in a remote or hybrid sales environment with regular travel to target markets and Bermuda. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.
