Job description

REGISTERED NURSE
DIALYSIS DEPARTMENT
BHB ensures the highest in quality health care through service excellence, education and leadership. We seek qualified, highly motivated, and experienced professionals to work in a supportive but demanding environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Initiates hemodialysis and monitors patients on hemodialysis during their treatments
• Functions as a primary care nurse by assessing client/patient and family needs, formulating care plans in accordance with established nursing diagnoses, executes interventions, and evaluating outcomes
• Consults with all members of the multidisciplinary team about patients' status and progress. Ensures that the Clinical Manager / Nurse in Charge are kept abreast of changes and problems related to assigned patients
• Functions as a team leader when required. Utilizes clinical, hospitals and community resources efficiently. Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities and when required, approved research projects
• Functions as a preceptor/monitor and role model for new junior staff, as well as peers
• Uses equipment and supplies in a safe and economical manner
• Participates in committees, attends staff meetings, in-services and educational programs
• Performs added nursing and delegated medical acts as required
Qualifications &/Registration required:
• Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution
• Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council, as required
• Minimum of two years current post grad experience as a Dialysis Nurse
• Current certifications: CPR, ACLS preferred
• Experience in Physical assessment essential
• Completion of a formal dialysis course would be a definite asset
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Salary Scale: NS 21-30 $88,670.83 per annum
