Summary

The Sales & Business Development Healthcare Executive is responsible for leading Berg's National Healthcare market strategy by driving revenue growth, expanding market share, developing strategic client relationships, and positioning Berg as a premier specialty contractor within the Healthcare sector.

They will maximize all targeted opportunities, create, and nurture new strategic partnerships, and achieve sales goals.ย  They are expected to be highly experienced, collaborative, influential, and effective as a senior leader who is responsible for initiating and closing sales opportunities, which accelerate Berg Groupโ€™s growth and profitability to support the companyโ€™s long-term vision.ย ย 

Essential Functions

  • Primary Responsibilities/Duties
    • Achieve annual sales, revenue, and gross profit objectives.
    • Expand Berg's presence by identifying and pursuing new Healthcare market segments, geographic regions, and strategic growth opportunities.
    • Increase Berg's national brand awareness and market share within the Healthcare industry by expanding client engagement and growing adoption of Berg's premanufactured solutions, design services, and specialty contracting expertise.
    • Position Berg to be a leader in the Healthcare Market.
    • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with owners, healthcare systems, architects, engineers, general contractors, suppliers, GPOโ€™s, and other key industry partners to generate new business and strengthen Berg's market position.
    • Align the sales objectives with firm business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
    • Work with the VP of Business Development to evaluate new market opportunities and solutions for expansion investments.
    • Manage the development and execution of the national sales plan and strategy for Healthcare.ย 
    • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities that drive revenue growth and expand Berg's Healthcare market presence.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on Berg's premanufactured solutions, design services, and traditional Berg Group Services.
    • Partner with the Director of Preconstruction and Design to successfully leverage Bergโ€™s services to the client and act as a long-term partner.ย 
    • Promote Berg's preconstruction and design services as value-added offerings that contribute to profitable growth.
    • Collaborate with the Estimating team on proposal opportunities, win strategies to maximize margin on new sales.
    • Manage the business development pipeline (CRM).
  • Financial Leadership
    • Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and metrics.
    • Provide advice on long-term business and financial planning.
    • Ensure that revenue growth is achieved responsibly and profitably.
    • Ensure timely and accurate sales reporting.

    • Participates in the development and execution of Bergโ€™s strategic and business plan including achievement of key objectives.
    • Establish and develop relationships with employees, including the company management team, as well as external partners and stakeholders.
    • Support and continuous improvement of Bergโ€™s high-performance culture.
    • Provide visionary leadership for new ideas and approaches and humbly welcomes ideas to innovate and better Berg from all levels of the organization.

Experience and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to consistently manage numerous high-priority projects at the same time.
  • Ability to present a professional image to management, employees, clients, and other outside contacts.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively (50%) to business development meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or relevant work experience.
  • 8-10 years of related experience in commercial construction โ€“ Healthcare experience and relationships are a positive.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline/goal-driven.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Base knowledge of document editing software i.e. BlueBeam, Adobe Acrobat, Plan Grid, Plexxis.
  • Industry experience in the Healthcare vertical, promotion and sales of architectural products, or national business development experience in the construction industry required.
Sedentary Work
  • Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 - 15 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying.
  • Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
  • Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
Travel
  • Up to 50% Travel.
  • Ability to complete regular day travel for site visits and client meetings.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air and automobile as required.
