Job description

Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for revenue accounting in a high-growth healthcare technology company? Ready to take on impactful new financial projects at the forefront of precision medicine?
We believe there is a smarter, more data-driven way to make decisions in healthcare - and our cloud-native AI-powered SOPHiA DDM Platform makes that vision a reality every day. As a Senior Accountant, you will have direct input into our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe.
The Senior Accountant will have significant interaction with members of the Accounting, FP&A, and Sales teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to interpret and apply revenue accounting principles and clearly communicate revenue accounting matters to various audiences including those outside of finance. This role will support the Head of Revenue Accounting with the responsibilities outlined below.
This is a temporary contract role that will extend through October 2026.
Responsibilities
Revenue accounting and reporting
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue calculations and account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team on order-to-cash processes
  • Review new revenue contracts for revenue accounting considerations
  • Support integration of new revenue streams into existing processes

Compliance and controls
  • Contribute to development, rollout, and continuous improvement of policies, processes, and internal control documentation
  • Manage deliverables for annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors
  • Assist with testing and implementation of new revenue recognition software
  • Support ad hoc projects as necessary

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required
  • 2-4 years of experience in public accounting serving publicly traded clients or a mix of public accounting and public company work experience
  • Technology, SAAS, or healthcare experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with SOX 404 and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Project management including consistently establishing and meeting timelines
  • Ability to learn and understand financial accounting systems/software
  • Capable of working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities
