SOPHiA GENETICS (NASDAQ: SOPH) combines genomics, radiomics, clinical, and other data modalities through our propriety SOPHiA DDM platform to help healthcare professionals and patients across the world in the fight against cancer and rare and inherited diseases. To help us achieve our ambitious mission, we are now searching for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Boston.
Your mission:
Reporting directly to the Head of Technology Infrastructure, the Senior Cloud Engineer will fill a key role in the strategy and development of our cloud infrastructure and security.
The value add:
  • Design, architect, and implement secure cloud infrastructure solutions on cloud platforms (Azure in particular).
  • Kubernetes design, implementations and operations at scale.
  • Mentor junior cloud engineers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes.
  • Help engineering teams troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
  • Lead infrastructure and cloud related projects.

Requirements
The experience you bring:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE or similar role.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Expert Kubernetes knowledge.
  • Strong Linux knowledge.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platform security features (specific to chosen platform).
  • Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for cloud and staying current with the latest advancements.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms especially Azure.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices
  • Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure services: Virtualization, networking, storage, compute services, etc.
  • Strong scripting skills: Python, shell, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and solve complex cloud-related problems
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills: Ability to work effectively with other engineers and stakeholders
  • Leadership and mentoring skills: Ability to lead and mentor junior cloud engineers
  • Able to gather requirements at all levels, analyze them and proceed to the design, planning and lead technically the project.
