Job description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Bandsaw Bench Technician for our client, a manufacturing and metal processing facility. This role supports the setup, operation, and maintenance of bandsaw fabrication equipment, focusing on precision, consistency, and quality of finished material. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with bandsaw strip steel, equipment setup, and maintaining proper tension, alignment, and finish.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $28–$30/hour DOE

Shifts:

  • Swing: Monday - Friday 2pm-10:30pm

  • Graveyard: Sunday–Wednesday 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain manual bandsaw stretcher bench equipment

  • Read and interpret manufacturing orders and execute customer specifications

  • Maintain and repair tools and gauges including back gauge and tension/straight edge gauges

  • Inspect and correct inconsistencies in material to meet quality standards

  • Blend and finish material sections to match customer expectations

  • Monitor production output and meet established TAKT times

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and material inconsistencies

  • Work independently while communicating effectively with team members when needed

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience operating bandsaw equipment or working with bandsaw strip steel

  • Strong understanding of material tension, level, and back length consistency

  • Ability to read and follow manufacturing orders and technical specifications

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

  • Ability to work independently in a production environment

  • Ability to work graveyard shift and overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating bandsaws up to 12"–16" width

  • Experience in metal processing or manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with production metrics such as TAKT time
