Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to operate dewatering equipment, including a belt press, recessed chamber filter press, dredge, telehandler, wheel loader, pump, mix tank, and other ancillary machinery on our projects. This is a traveling position requiring out-of-town 3 weeks at a time. Typically, our projects are within 8 hours of Columbus, OH. As an Equipment Operator, you will be trained to safely operate all the equipment under the direction of the Site Supervisor.
Job Details:
Position: Traveling Industrial Equipment Operator
Job Type: Full Time 40 hours per week and overtime
Locations: Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia
Pay: $23.00 per hour (Negotiable based on experience)

Job Duties:
  • Operate dewatering equipment and support equipment to process industrial sludge that is dredged from containment ponds located near the treatment facility. To be trained in all aspects of the operation, including safe operation of the equipment and inspections, maintenance, and keeping up with the needs of the customer.
  • Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean.
  • Prioritize safety, be conscientious, dependable, and quality-minded.

Requirements:
  • Able to comply with our drug screening program and fitness for duty physical.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors and operating equipment.
  • Less than 6 points on a valid driver's license. No DUI in the last 2 years. Reliable transportation.
  • Aptitude to learn to operate and sometimes make minor repairs to various equipment.
  • Diligent attitude toward plant safety rules and responsibilities.
  • Ability to pass safety training exams and follow instructions.
  • The ability to pass a background check is required by both Metropolitan Environmental Services or its customers.
  • Able to work mostly 10-12-hour day shift work, but applicants must be open to some weekends depending on customer demands.

Supervisory and Safety Job Functions:
  • Ensure on-site personnel and support staff comply with all aspects of client & company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the client and other employees and management.
  • Ensure the Health & Safety concerns of on-site personnel are met.
  • Perform the necessary & required supervisory tasks (such as conducting daily safety briefings, and documenting routine and monthly inspections.
