HPC-Industrial powered by Clean Harbors in Superior, WI is looking for a Filter Press Lead to join their safety conscious team! The Lead will operate a variety of mechanical and manual servicing equipment for industrial services and waste management. with HPC established methods, policies, practices and procedures and applicable regulations.

Performs safe and proper operation of waste reduction, vapor control and/or degassing equipment such as centrifuge, belt press, pumps, etc. Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for assignment. Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment. Ensures work meets compliance standards of company and customer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated.
  • Hands-on experience on operations of Decanter centrifuges, belt presses, filter press and ancillary equipment (pumps, conveyors, etc.).
  • Operation of special equipment, such as centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
  • Operate 5K hotsy pressure washers.
  • Assures unit is never operated in an unsafe manner or in a manner which is inconsistent with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements.
  • Assures that all containers are properly secured, i.e. chock blocks, jack stands;
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors
  • Operating valves, pumps, monitoring tanks levels, lining end dump trailers, routine housekeeping.
  • Operate and maintain a 2 Phase centrifuge.
  • Take product samples as needed.
  • Tractor/trailer experience is a plus but will train if necessary.
  • Assist in the operation of industrial waste treatment equipment or power tools as directed and in accordance with established company and client's facility rules.
  • Checks equipment at the start of each shift; Hooks up and breaks down hoses using proper tools when directed by Operator or Project Manager.
  • Manually cleans, installs, fits, repairs valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment on projects. Understanding of equipment maintenance and ability to perform maintenance. Cleans up work area and equipment after work is complete. Assist in maintaining safe and clean workplace.
  • Assists in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and general work area prior to starting any job. Informs supervisor of deficiencies which may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productivity.
  • Wears the personal protective equipment prescribed by posted signs, written instructions, and work permits. Also, wears additional protective equipment specified by his/her supervisor or clients Safety Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years related experience.
  • Basic safety courses including site specific procedures; All required local training, Successful completion of all required and OSHA training as a condition of employment.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities or his/her position.
  • Compliance with physical requirements.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Smartphone operation experience.
