This position would be a hybridpositionwhere the foundation of the role is EventProducer andworking withleadershipwith directfocusonCoffee and Culture events.It would berequiredthat the chosen applicantiscapableof reportingto both teams and taking direct leadofCoffee and Culture event planning.The positionwould require the employee to both complete 2 CASE events persemesteralong withfacilitateall Coffee and Culture events(3per semester on average)Theyalso willbe in lead of curatingand installing Laird center case displays.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must be available to work between 5-15 hours per week during the semester and attend staff meetings and events as necessary, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts.Some work during breaks may be necessary.

  • Annual Fall Learning Experience (retreat) for two days prior to the start of the semester (end of August).

  • Theydemonstrategood organizational and communication skills as they will be working closely with multipleteams.

  • They offer an emphasisofcultural awareness anddemonstratetheir interest in working towards equity and socialjustice.

  • They offer thematurity to handle difficult topics and create a safe atmosphere for open discussion.

  • Be available forapproximately12-15hours per week during the semester, including 8 hours scheduled time per week.

  • Play a vital role in developing a lively and vibrant community on campus by contributing to the 4 components of programming:Selection, promotion, production, and evaluation of each program. Areas ofprograminclude:cinema, concerts, travel, late night,special eventsand a primary focus on Coffee and Culture events.

  • Negotiate performance contracts with professional agents andartists, andensurethat all points of the contract and rider have been met for both parties.

  • Develop a good line of communication with Program Services, Campus Reservations, Dining Services, SPTV, The Pointer, 90FM, Diversity and College Access.

  • Develop an organized system foreventsand create a filing system accessible to future employmenton TEAMS.

  • Annual Winter Retreat for one-two days prior to the start of the second semester (end of January).

Studentsapplying for this position must pass aCriminal Background Checkinitiatedby the University Centers.

Preferred Qualifications

It is encouraged for the applicant to have prior experience in programming,public relations,and/or advertising.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semestersremainingat UWSP.

Education

TheEvent Producermust be at least a part-time student (enrolled ina minimum of6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits)andbein good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher)at the time of hiring andthroughoutemployment.
