Job description
Located in Arlington, Virginia, just minutes from Washington, D.C., Marymount offers a dynamic and forward-looking environment where innovation is encouraged and flexibility is valued. We understand that higher education is evolving, and we embrace change with creativity, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Our faculty and staff thrive in a community that prioritizes communication, cross-functional collaboration, and service-driven leadership. Whether working directly with students or supporting them behind the scenes, every role contributes to a shared mission: helping students grow, succeed, and lead with purpose and confidence.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Access, Belonging and Culture to provide senior-level leadership for institutional efforts that
advance equitable access, inclusive excellence, and global engagement within a higher education setting. The Director oversees disability and accommodations support services; international student support, including visa and immigration compliance; and cultural and global education initiatives.
This position ensures compliance with federal regulations, promotes inclusive campus practices, and leads assessment-driven program development to enhance student learning, persistence, and success. The Director reports to the Vice Provost.
The Director serves as a campus leader and subject-matter expert in disability access, international student support, and cultural education, working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and senior leadership to support the institution's mission and strategic priorities.

- Develop and implement strategic goals aligned with institutional mission, accreditation standards, and student success initiatives.
- Supervise and evaluate professional and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Serve on institutional committees and task forces related to access, student success, inclusion, and global engagement.
Disability Access and Accommodations
- Oversee disability support services, ensuring the timely and equitable provision of reasonable accommodations for students.
- Ensure institutional compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and related federal and state regulations.
- Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures related to accessibility, accommodations, and grievance processes.
- Provide consultation and guidance to faculty and staff regarding inclusive instructional practices and accessibility standards.

Cultural and Global Education
- Lead the development and implementation of cultural education and global learning initiatives that promote belonging, intercultural competence, and global awareness.
- Partner with academic departments and co-curricular units to integrate cultural and global perspectives into the student experience.
- Support campus-wide programming that fosters cross-cultural dialogue and inclusive community building.
Budget Management and Assessment
- Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, and fiscal accountability.
- Lead program assessment and evaluation efforts, using qualitative and quantitative data to measure outcomes and inform decision-making.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership, accreditation, and external reviews related to access, compliance, and student services.
