The role...

At Soho House, the Doorman is often the first and last person our members and guests interact with, making the role an important part of creating a warm, welcoming and memorable experience.

The Doorman is responsible for providing a polished and professional arrival and departure experience for members and guests. From opening doors and offering a warm welcome to assisting with luggage, providing directions and supporting the safe and smooth operation of the House, this role is all about delivering the level of service expected from a world-class hotel while creating an atmosphere that feels distinctly Soho House.

Main Duties...

  • Welcome members, guests and visitors warmly upon arrival and offer a friendly farewell when they leave.
  • Open doors and assist guests entering and exiting the House.
  • Assist with luggage, bags and other belongings when required.
  • Provide guests with helpful information, including directions, transportation options and general information about the House and surrounding area.
  • Work closely with the Front Desk, Membership and House teams to ensure a seamless arrival experience.
  • Monitor the entrance and surrounding area, maintaining awareness of who is entering and leaving the House.
  • Support with access control and security procedures when required, ensuring only authorized members, guests and visitors enter the House.
  • Assist with managing vehicle arrivals, taxis and other transportation in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Remain visible, approachable and attentive at all times, ready to assist guests with any questions or requests.
  • Handle guest interactions with discretion, professionalism and a calm, composed manner.
  • Report any concerns, incidents or unusual activity to the appropriate manager.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming entrance area at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the House to deliver an exceptional member and guest experience.

Experience Required...

  • Previous experience as a Doorman, Bellman, Concierge, Front of House or in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • A naturally warm, welcoming and personable approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional and polished appearance.
  • The ability to remain calm, attentive and composed in a busy environment.
  • A strong sense of awareness and good judgment, with the ability to handle situations discreetly and appropriately.
  • Someone who enjoys being around people and takes pride in making a great first impression.
  • A willingness to support the wider team and step in wherever needed.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
