Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences - Psychiatry Research (Assistant Professor)

Summary
The Clinical Psychologist will advance the Department's clinical, research, and academic missions through participation in clinical and translational mental health research, coordination of strategic research initiatives, scholarly activity, and grant development. Responsibilities include supporting federally funded, foundation-supported, and consortium research programs; coordinating the Welcome Trust initiative; mentoring trainees and research staff; authoring scientific manuscripts; securing external funding; and contributing to the strategic growth of the Department's research and educational programs.
Job Duties:

  • Participate in clinical and translational mental health research initiatives.
  • Coordinate the Department's Welcome Trust research initiative.
  • Support federally funded, foundation-supported, and consortium research programs led by Dr. Storch.
  • Develop, submit, and manage externally funded research grants.
  • Prepare and publish scholarly manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in educational, mentorship, and supervisory activities involving trainees, postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, academic conferences, and faculty development activities.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and advancement of the Department's research and education programs.
  • Perform other faculty duties as assigned in support of the Department's academic mission.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Texas. If license-eligible at the time of hire, Texas licensure must be obtained within the timeframe required by Baylor College of Medicine.
Work Authorization Requirement:
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
