Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Clinical Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the daily operations of the clinical Behavioral Health Department, and providing leadership, direction, and support to counselors, integrated behavioral health clinicians, and peer support staff, as well as serving patients as a behavioral health clinician.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of behavioral health clinical staff.
  • Provides advice, direction, and advocacy for behavioral health clinical staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations and regular feedback.
  • Ensures staff adhere to and follow all organizational policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinates and supervises graduate level internships within accredited universities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Conducts direct patient care, including, but not limited to, client screening, assessment, and interventions (in accordance with the integrated behavioral health model).
  • Facilitates classes and groups as well as social service support, referrals and/or resources.
  • Develops a measurable, time limited treatment plan.
  • Serves as resource for patients, families and healthcare employees.
  • Facilitates communication between family and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborates with community resources to formulate and deliver a comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment plan.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance meetings, soliciting recommendations from other staff about necessary and appropriate Quality Assurance activities and in-service training to improve the behavioral health consultant services provided by the clinics.
  • Develops, reviews, approves, and implements Behavioral Health protocols, procedures and evidence-based practices provided within models of integrated behavioral health and psychotherapy interventions in consultation with Clinical Director and operations team.
  • Supervises and monitors compliance of Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) contract requirements in conjunction with NOAH administrators.
  • Periodically reviews charts of Behavioral Health Providers to assess consistency with agency protocols and procedures.
  • Works with corporate grant writing team in developing, presenting, and implementing Behavioral Health grants.
  • Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent NOAH in the community.
  • Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court, and police activities, etc.
  • Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to adhere to the professional code of ethics.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with the State Mental Health Code.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented and professional.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks including delegation of tasks when appropriate.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Science, or related field required.
  • Licensed as Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family, or Substance Abuse Counselor designation required.
  • Active Arizona Behavioral Health License required.
  • 5+ years in behavioral or mental health counseling required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience required.

Other Requirements:
  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
