Job Summary:
Conducts interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions including telehealth assessments.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients.
  • Responds to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
  • Facilitates admission of in-patients and out-patients based on physician orders. Coordinates transportation to another facility and/or referral to a lower level of care as indicated.
  • Documents calls and related admission information. May staff crisis hotline as needed.
  • Reviews all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence to hospital and regulatory policies.
  • Performs insurance verification and prior-authorization based on payor requirements.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Health or related field

EXPERIENCE
  • No experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
